CULINARY PRODUCER
Every aspect of showing food on camera requires exact organization, preparation and writing of breakdowns. This is the department in charge of the food and equipment needed on set.
We work in the studio and in the field. We are the bridge between the set and the production kitchen.
The culinary producer works directly with the director, the creative team, prop master and talents.
On a short food segment or an entire cooking show episode, shooting a food scene for film or coaching actors to show confidence in the ability to cooking. The Culinary Producer collaborates in breaking down recipes and the cooking action into scenes.
Walks through the process of how to move in and out each step of the cooking action.
Rehearsing the cooking movement for the camera to capture it, each and every step coordinated with time.
The order to start and finish, what is important to be displayed, quick resets, cut unrealistic time with swap outs of finished items. Always giving attention to continuity.
“Every project will require different organization. Some to create scripts others to set up scenes and instruct who is in front of the camera. I find that being a culinary producer has given me a better understanding of what is needed for editing while producing. It certainly made me a better video and motion Food Stylist. I travel Internationally and around the United States shooting tv, film and commercials”.
